Dr. Nick Yang

GP

Nick began General Practice in 2015 having graduated from Melbourne University in 2011.

He has been a doctor in the Bayside area since his registrar days and is now a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and enjoys all aspects of family medicine.

Nick is busy with 2 energetic kids and has been growing a nice plot of snow peas, for which he will take any advice on.

He looks forward to his coffee every morning a bit too much.

Dr. Olivia Dorman

GP

Olivia graduated in Medicine from Queen’s University in Belfast in 2004.  She completed her General Practice training in Northern Ireland, being awarded MRCGP (UK) in 2008.  Olivia obtained fellowship of the RACGP in 2011 after moving to Melbourne. She has worked locally in Melbourne since 2011, enjoying a variety of roles within medicine including being an examiner for the RACGP, being a GP Registrar trainer and providing shared antenatal care to pregnant patients.

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice but her passion lies in women’s and children’s health.  She is thorough, empathetic and aims to provide exceptional care to all of her patients.

Olivia believes in offering patients autonomy and governance when it comes to their health.  She enjoys involving patients in decision-making and coming up with a joint plan when it comes to managing issues.

She has a keen interest in pre-natal screening and antenatal screening, and will provide care for mothers and fathers on their pregnancy journey, and into the post-natal phase. She is an accredited Antenatal Shared Care provider, affiliated with the RWH (Parkville and Sandringham), Mercy Hospital for Women, Western Health and Northern Health.

Olivia loves her busy life with her husband, young children and Labrador Maggie. She loves coffee, Pilates and AFL, in particular cheering on the Collingwood football team!

Dr. Jonathan Gillies

GP

Jon graduated from Monash University in 2012 and worked his junior doctor years at Monash Health, before completing GP fellowship in 2018. Jon also completed a Diploma in Child Health, Diploma in Women’s Health, and Master in Public Health during this time. Jon continues to work in Aboriginal health, and is involved in policy and public health as a medical officer at VACCHO (Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Heath Organisation).

He also enjoys teaching and is a supervisor for GPs in their training years, and a tutor at the  Melbourne University Medical School. Previously Jon has also worked as the Richmond VFL doctor for 4 years, and has worked in addiction medicine, and in remote Aboriginal communities.

Jon believes in tailored health care for every individual and principles of autonomy and shared decision making.

Outside of medical pursuits Jon is a keen road cyclist, recreational runner and sport enthusiast in general. He enjoys travelling to far off countries with his wife and exploring the Australian outback. He is the owner of a much loved and poorly behaved dog.

Dr. Vidhya Subramaniam

GP

Currently on Maternity leave from February 2024

Vidhya graduated from Monash University in 2011 and obtained her Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) fellowship in 2021. She has worked in various metropolitan and rural hospitals and clinics (in both Victoria and NSW), including several rotations in Paediatrics. She has completed a Diploma in Child Health during this time.

Vidhya enjoys all aspects of family medicine, with special interests in Paediatrics, Women’s Health (including Implanon insertion and removal) and Preventive Health.

Her personal interests include travelling, staying active, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Julie Tindall

GP

Julie graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2010. After completing her initial hospital years she commenced Physician training in Glasgow and successfully passed her MRCP written exams.

After deciding to make the move to Australia in 2014 with her husband, she worked in Emergency Medicine before embarking on her General Practice Career in 2017.

Julie is interested in all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in women’s health, paediatrics and chronic disease management and strongly believes in the importance of preventative healthcare.

She places a high value on clear communication and shared decision making with her patients to ensure that they have a good understanding of their health and treatment options.

Julie is also a keen medical educator and works part-time with the RACGP as a Senior Medical Educator, training the future generation of General Practitioners. She maintains her acute medicine skills by working across several of the new Priority Care Centres in Melbourne. 

Outside of medicine, Julie’s values an active lifestyle and enjoys going to the gym several times a week. She also enjoys getting into the countryside, going on hikes and trying out the new restaurants that Melbourne has to offer on weekends. Overall, Julie is a compassionate and skilled GP who is committed to providing the highest quality of care to her patients.

With close to a decade of dedicated service in the NHS, she transitioned her career to Melbourne, where she continues to excel in General Practice.

Throughout her professional tenure, Prachi has explored various specialty areas, accumulating a vast wealth of experience and knowledge across diverse fields. She holds Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as in the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, further enhancing her expertise. Her passion lies in Women’s Health & Contraception, Sexual & Reproductive Health, Mental Health, Chronic Disease Management, and Child Health, where she brings a compassionate and comprehensive approach to patient care.

Beyond her medical endeavors, Prachi finds joy in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. She frequents the gym, indulges in reading, explores new destinations through travel, and cherishes moments spent with her two children, husband, and close circle of friends.

Nathan became a fellow of the RACGP in 2021, and has since served communities in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Nathan is thrilled to join the team at Newbay Medical Clinic.

Nathan enjoys all the aspects of General Practice, and relishes the challenges that come with each consult.

He especially values the long-term relationships he can build
with his patients and families. Nathan is particularly interested in helping those who are living with Chronic Illness and Mental Health Issues.
