Newbay Medical Clinic Fees
UPDATE: 1 July 2024:
We advise that our gap fees Monday- Friday $64
- a $106.85 fee for a standard consultation < 20 min ($42.85 rebate from Medicare)
- a $146.90 fee for a long consultation <40 mins ($82.90 rebate from Medicare)
- a $186.5 fee for a prolonged consultation 40+ mins ($122.15 rebate from Medicare)
We will continue to bulk bill children under the age of 17 (on weekdays only)
Gap increases apply to weekend consultations of $80.
Please note that Our Gap has not changed since our gap increase in March 2023, and is in line with ongoing increases in our overheads, including rent, wages, electricity, medical supplies and insurance.

BULK BILLING
The following patients will be bulk billed (on weekdays only):
- patients with a DVA gold card;
- patients who identify as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
- children aged 17 and under
- existing patients suffering from genuine financial hardship – please enquire before your appointment.
NON ATTENDANCE FEE
You can cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least four hours’ notice.
If you fail to attend your appointment without notice, you will be charged a non-attendance fee equivalent to the appointment type you have booked.
CANCELLATION FEE
Effective November 2nd, 2023, our clinic has updated our cancellation policy and procedure in response to an increasing number of non-attendances. The following changes will be implemented:
- A minimum of 4 hours’ notice is required to cancel an appointment.
- A cancellation/missed appointment fee equal to the appointment type will be charged if notice not provided. This fee cannot be claimed back on Medicare.
To minimise cancellations and non-attendances, we have taken additional steps to remind patients of their appointments. When an appointment is booked, an email is sent as a reminder. The day before the appointment, a text message is sent, requesting a reply with either ‘Y’ for yes or ‘N’ for no. If no response is received, we follow up with a phone call.
We strive to provide ample opportunity for cancellation and believe that we exceed expectations in this regard. However, due to limited available appointments, it has become necessary to enforce our cancellation policy. This will enable us to deliver the best possible care and service to all of our patients.

PAYMENT
All fees must be paid immediately following your consultation.
We prefer payment by EFTPOS, American Express, Visa or Mastercard. Surcharges apply. Please ask our friendly reception team for more information.
We do not accept cheques.
