A vital part of maintaining womens health is cervical screening, also known as pap smears. Australian health services recommend having a pap-smear once every five years between the ages 25 and 74.
Every two years, screenings for breast cancer are required. However, screenings are available from 40 to 49 and 75+; simply discuss your individual needs and circumstances with your doctor first to see if this may be necessary.
Regular screenings for bowel cancer should be done by everyone, men and women. It is recommended that you start this process at the age of 50.
We can discuss various forms of contraception and help you choose the best one for your life. We can discuss everything, including the contraceptive pill and long-acting contraceptives. We hope to bring on a Mirena insertion service in the near future, likely with a visiting gynaecologist by late 2022.
Yes! Dr Dorman has also completed a Diploma of Obstetrics, and practices shared care in pregnancy. She can offer a compassionate package individualised for each patient she works with for anyone looking to receive their low-risk antenatal visits outside of a hospital setting.
